Circular Economy

Hotspot Scotland

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who attended and made Circular Economy Hotspot Scotland an unforgettable event!

We were delighted to welcome delegates from 30 October to 1 November to Glasgow for this year's Circular Economy Hotspot —a major international event that showcased Scotland's progressive approach to developing a circular economy and the best of our burgeoning circular businesses to a global audience. The video above shows a few highlights!

Hosted by Zero Waste Scotland, the programme included visits to pioneering Scottish businesses, sessions led by the foremost names in circular economy policy and innovation, and extensive networking opportunities.

Amongst a stellar line-up of speakers, we were honoured to have Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, address delegates and announce the latest businesses to receive support through the Circular Economy Investment Fund, with over £700,000 going to help Scottish businesses accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

Attendees can now download a masterdeck of Wednesday's presentation slides. (Please note the file is over 280mb in size).

Building on success of previous years

Following large-scale inaugural events in The Netherlands and Luxembourg, the Hotspot will demonstrate Scotland's award winning progress as a leading circular economy nation on the world stage. It follows global recognition at the World Economic Forum, where Scotland received the award for Circular Economy Nations and Regions in the high profile Circulars Awards in 2017.
